More than one million seven hundred thousand people demonstrated yesterday throughout the country under the slogan "So no: Rectification Now" to put the finishing touch to the day of strike generally called by the UGT and CCOO and seconded by over 70% of workers.
A democratic tide flooded the main English cities to express their opposition to labor reform and a demand that the government rectify their economic and social policy. Marches they reached the half million people in Madrid, or figures as high as those of Barcelona with 400,000 people, with 144,000 marchers Andalucia Aragon or more than 100,000 attendees, for example.
The Secretaries General of UGT and CCOO, Candido Mendez and Ignacio Fernández Toxo, participated in the demonstration in Madrid.
Méndez appreciated the commitment and solidarity of the President of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), Michael Sommers, who from day 28 in Madrid has been showing support and solidarity with the struggle of the English workers.
